Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs & General Counsel

Robert H. Gilman is Senior Vice President of Legal Affairs, and General Counsel for the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies. His primary responsibility is to oversee the Legal Affairs Department, including Corporate Compliance, as its lawyers and staff provide legal advice and representation for AmeriHealth Mercy and its affiliates. Mr. Gilman and the legal staff are involved in advising on all aspects of the company’s operations including medical management, provider contracting, information technology and acquisitions and divestitures.

Prior to joining the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies, Mr. Gilman was with the firm of Reed, Smith, Shaw and McClay in Philadelphia where he practiced in the healthcare, insurance and commercial areas. Before practicing law, he worked in healthcare administration at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania Hospital. Mr. Gilman received JD, MBA and BA degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.
