AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies Ranked Among Top 50
in U.S.News & World Report/NCQA Listing
U.S. News & World Report/NCQA America's Best Health Plans 2008-09 rates Passport Health Plan #9, AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan #25, Keystone Mercy Health Plan #35
Philadelphia, PA - Three Medicaid health plans in the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies were ranked among the top 50 Medicaid health plans nationwide, according to U.S.News & World Report/NCQA America’s Best Health Plans 2008-09. Passport Health Plan, based in Louisville, KY, was among the best plans in America, ranking 9th out of nearly 200 Medicaid plans.
Two other Medicaid plans of the AmeriHealth Mercy Families of Companies were also recognized in this year’s rankings. AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan in Harrisburg, PA, was ranked #25; Keystone Mercy in Philadelphia, PA, was ranked #35.

- Access to care, including a member’s ability to get needed care quickly and a health plan's customer service,
- Overall member satisfaction,
- Preventive services, including health screenings, prenatal care, childhood and adolescent immunizations and well-child visits,
- Treatment, how well the plan takes care of ongoing health problems,
- Overall quality score, a combination of the scores from the four main categories above, along with NCQA accreditation.
